Douro Valley, Portugal, 2nd visit
About 1 year after our first visit, we returned to the Douro Valley in Portugal for a 2nd visit for an extended weekend. After exploring Spain and the Ribeira Sacra and Ribeiro regions , we drove south to the Douro Valley.
We went back to the Quinta Do Pego hotel, then moved over the Quinta de Ventozelo hotel which is one of the original Port producers going back 100's of years. We had a wine tasting at Adega de Favaios cooperative winery which is home to a 2.75 (Euros) white wine and an 12 Euro Tinto reserve. 500 farmers grow grapes to produce Muscatel wine (not to be confused with Moscato), then we had a glass of wine at Symingtons followed by lunch at the Michelin star restaurant at Seixo by Vasco Coelho Santos
